Since version 0.6 of Gladivs Simple Screen Capture, it is possible to define custom key combinations. Gladivs SSC has some key combinations defined by default to take screen captures and refresh monitor views.

Default key combinations

The default key combinations in Gladivs SSC are:

  • Take a screenshot: [Print Screen]
  • Refresh monitor views: [CTRL] + [Print Screen]

Define custom key combinations

In Gladivs SSC 0.6 we can define our custom key combinations. To do this you must go to the configuration menu, located at the bottom right of the main window and click on the option "Keyboard Settings":

It opens a new window which displays the currently defined key combinations:

To change the key combination for one of the two actions, press the 'Modify' button of the combination that you want to change. Then opens a new window in which you can choose the desired keys:

As you can see in the image, we can select up to three keys: first key, second key and final key. The final key is mandatory, because it corresponds to a action key, and this should always be defined. Set the first and second keys are optional, since they correspond to the so-called "modifier keys".

These keys, must always be pressed in the order in which have been defined: first + second + third. If we chage the order they will not produce any effect.

It is important to note that these key combinations work at the OS level, so if you press the key combination in another open application, Gladivs SSC will respond if that key combination is also defined in Gladivs SSC.

Some examples:

  • Set the key [F5] to take a screenshot:

On first key select: None
On second key select: None
On final key select: F5

  • Set [Control] + [F5]:

On first key select: Control L or R
On second key select: None
On final key select: F5

  • Set [Control] + [Alt] + F5:

On first key select: Control L or R
On second key select: Alt L or R
On final key select: F5
